Honest question, #1, do you feel like you're getting the extra money's worth out of Ultimate? I got Pro, during the $99 deal, and Home Premium via family pack sale, but I've never tried Ultimate (except back in the early beta, and I didn't really use it much.)

The only reason to buy 7 Ultimate is if you where stupid enough (like me) to have bought Vista Ultimate and wanted to do an in place upgrade (as opposed to 7 Pro which would let you do a reformat from scratch "upgrade" from Vista Ultimate.) Ultimate just means MS will Ultimately keep screwing you for over priced upgrades.
The only thing it gives you is Bitlocker which can be done for free with 3rd party programs and Foreign Language support which should have been free anyway.

#3, Win 7 runs on my computer, Vista walks. Oh, and the label was different on my Vista CD.

#3...there's no difference....stick with 98SE. Not worth the upgrade.

my pc runs much better after the upgrade from vista to 7. Although for $160, I think I'd just live with vista for a little while longer and put that money towards a new pc which will have 7 on it.

Been using 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium for one week now instead of 32 bit XP Professional. I really love it, and my computer is much quicker now. No problem with installation or drivers. Most programs work.

The only ones that should be buying ultimate is businesses.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/compare

The only differences between pro and ultimate...

    bitlocker backup
    35 language support.

Like the average user needs either of these...

The difference between home and pro

    XP appl;ication support
    Access to business networks (Domains)

    Backup and restore to networks

Some may be needed but most likely not for the home PC.
