EWIZ BLOWS!
$159 at fry's
Why isn't Win7 still considered BLOATWARE compared to Win XP? I don't need an eye candy GUI to launch programs. Win XP 64-bit handles my multicore PC with ease.
#3 Do you know what bloatware is exactly? Besides, if you really didn't want all the extra features and design, then just order the basic version without aero or any desktop enhancements. Simple as that.
#3 - win xp doesn't support the latest direct x. if i'm not mistaken, driver detection is also better, and multithreaded application handling is improved.
but somebody call my bluffs?
5, you are right.
I think Microsoft owes me a free OS after what happened with the last one.
people QQ too much. if you dont like it dont buy it or use another os. QQ isn't going to change the company's mind especially on a bensbargain page.
windows7 sux almost as bad as vista. i've been getting blue screens at least once a day and I have updated all drivers. video that played fine on the same system (amd x2, 2gb ram, ati x1300) with winxp is jerky with win7.
#5, the only reason winxp doesn't support dx10 is because microsoft doesn't want it to and better multithreading support can be added to winxp with a service pack.
win7 is just a way to give stiffies to the ms shareholders.
#5 is correct in that performance is better with Win 7 but I also have to agree with #3 in that Win 7 is bloated. User account control crap is one example. Just give me a 64 bit version of Windows 98 and I would be happy.
#8 is doing it wrong. I've installed W7 on 8 different setups and not one has had an issue outside having to download a few 64 bit drivers.
No blue screens, none.
I gots me a 5 finger discount on teh torrentz
I am getting a free copy from ms launch event.
#8 you must suck horribly at properly caring for your pc... if you didn't visit all those dirty canadian bacon porn sites you wouldn't have these issues.
I am more than content with Windows 7 in fact I trust it so much that I've loaded my HTPC with it.
Will this include all of the security errors, and numerous other defective code that has been supplied with past versions of Windows?
Of course it does, it's a patch not a re-write
Is Windows 7 finally "Patch Perfect"?
#6 You think wrong!
#8 You did it wrong!
Using Windows 7 Ultimate for a week now. Installed on a Q6600/Abit IN9 32x setup that has a history (hence Abit's current status). I had problems with the nVidia drivers using RAID 0 - nothing but blue screens regardless of the driver version. Dropped the RAID and all is okay now.
Another issue that I am working through is the Virtual PC/XP Mode. With the initial install, it worked great. Tried again the next day and get the message that Virtualization/BIOS is not setup right. I did see some Windows Updates install with a restart - may be related to the problem. This is really the reason I am trying Windows 7, for I wanted to run some older programs in XP mode rather than remoting to an XP system over the LAN.
I look for a Windows 7 svc pack in the not to distant future.
#16 There is never a so-called "Patch Perfect" software in the world.
#18, I believe your raid issues are a known problem already with that board and 7. I'd expect Abit/nVidia to resolve it soon enough, they're usually pretty good with fixing stuff. Sounds like your BIOS might need an update, too, but maybe you already tried that.
