Hi gfx, that's actually the upgrade version which we've posted the past week: http://bensbargains.net/deal/microsoft-windows-8-pro-upgrade-version-39-at-microcenter-com-278440/ You'll also be able to download it for $40 from Microsoft starting Friday.

The Newegg deal is for the full version.

Professionals won't upgrade to Windows 8 ... they will wait for 9 that dosen't make their desktop or laptop behave like a tablet.

Business, in general, will mostly likely pass on this version of Windows or may choose to move to another operating system altogether when it's time for a system change if Microsoft continues to flake out and go consumer on them...

Like the Windows Home Server 2011 which needed a 50% cut to get some interest. Win8 won't get any interest until the problems are fixed and a price cut.

To most consumers, why should they go Win8 which is Win7 + a fullscreen gadget overlay.

I thought Windows 95 was a clown suite of DOS. Now we see M*etro (bacon pot pie) is going to be clown suite for Windows 7....

only show stopper in win 8 is the new tablet interface and annoying popup menu with settings sprawled all over the place. Full screen start menu is waht kills it for me, I could, in theory, get over the ugly looks of it, if I have to, I guess.

Under the skin, Windows 8 is improved. It has a better task manager and it boots fast (7-seconds with an SSD) . Vista is also fine. I don't see the problem that people complain about. I played with Win8 on a friend's computer and it is frustrating at first because of the new desktop but you can customize it. The main drawback is the lack of Windows Media Center but Microsoft is giving it away free now. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs.
