If I bought it even at this cheap price it'd be the same as saying "I approve of what you did with this one." so I won't. Good price, hate the interface.

    I don't know , I like it , kinda
I have no problem with metro
    I did have a issue
    installed win8 on new harddrive
when I went to authenticate it wouldn't let me
error code said key was only good for a upgrade
it forced me to install vista again and reinstall win8
that and I have had some driver issues , sometimes drops keyboard/mouse drivers on bootup
$40 bucks though .I feel it was worth upgrading my vista comp , goin leave win 7 on the laptop though

If you don't have a touch screen monitor why would you want Windows 8. I tried using it twice with a mouse and both times got so flustrated I reinstalled my Windows 7.

I hate Windows 8. Other than faster bootup, I can't find an everyday feature I like. Nyaaa!

One of the most stupid reasons, but perhaps the biggest reasons I do not want it is I use several screens and really enjoy having beautiful images as my desktop wallpaper on any screen not currently filled with work stuff, and with Win8 all I get is the metro interface. Yuk, and no thanks.

If you have a bunch of PC's go for the Microsoft Technet subscription. All you can eat Microsoft.

This OS is a failure for the desktop and even major manufacturers like Toshiba have come out and admitted it. There is now evidence that Microsoft inflated their numbers to make it look like it sold well, when in fact it is selling worse than Vista did. President of the OS division was fired over this failure.

If you hate metro you can turn it off. We've been testing with Win8 at my work for like 2 years and never use Metro- looks just like Win7 except better HW support.

I like the hypervisor in Win8. Far better than virtual PC was on Win7. That's worth $40 by itself.

#10 Toshiba is just pi$$ed because MS cranked out the surface hardware that cuts into Toshiba's own PC sales.

When you buy a new PC or an OS you should get free OS upgrades as long as you have the same motherbourd. This business of a system becoming obsolete because the software is out of date is bullshlt. Screw you Microsoft.

If by better memory usage you mean uses no more than XP to get the same jobs done, no.
