Bought one of these for my wife- it was marked down and came with a $20 rebate and it was $20 total after rebate. It does not eat batteries up like I thought it would.

Not everyone want to sit 6 feet from their system. Not everyone wants wires all over the place.

Wireless is not as reliable as corded mice and keyboard in my opinion. This is especially important for people that play games. I would recommend that you look at logitech before microsoft products.

Microsoft H/W is pretty nice build. I used to own sevral of them and they are pretty durable. However Wireless keyboard is only good for light use like HTPC or you own a tiny desktop-so you can take out your K/B mouse and get some area for you to work on. I still prefer corded K/B...

This is a quality set, but I'd echo other posters that you probably wouldn't want to trust a wireless keyboard/mouse for gaming.

I still prefer the one with built-in battery mouse = don't have to run to store for AAs or AAAs at middle of the night

Is this truly ergonomic, or is the mounded type with the split in the middle better for you?

This is my favorite keyboard. Although, I switch to a wired mouse when doing gaming.
