OfficeDepot.com has the Microsoft Wireless USB Laser Notebook Mouse 6000 for $50 - $40 rebate [Exp 11/24] + $0 shipping = $10 shipped after rebate. The receiver snaps into the mouse for storage while traveling. [BizRate]

"The requested products are currently not available online."

Office Depot either sold out of these things in seconds, or it's a classic bait-and-switch...

Too many deals dependent on high percent of discount wrapped up in rebates. This should have a pretty good chance of redemption on the rebate but would prefer a straight cash deal with a decent discount on the mouse.

All of these stores actually make a lot of money from rebates. During the 8-12 weeks that they use to "validate" your rebate, they invest your money. They do that with thousands of customers and thousands of products and it allows them to make money even after they reimburse you for the rebate.

I was able to place the order, but the rebate link is not working. Can anyone check on that? Thanks!

This is not a notebook mouse. You don't slam/snap receiver into the mouse. Also, the rebate is not from Microsoft, but from OD.

I've been using this mouse for about 6 months and no problems so far. The batteries last a long time.

#13, how far is the mouse from the receiver? I was changing the batteries "regularly" when the mouse was about 4 ft away.
