yeah it plays mpeg4, h.264, but not after the zune software takes a long time to convert. sometimes, that can take up to an hour.

You don't add content from your computer, you sync content from your computer. Pain in the ass.

#4 I have a Zune... You don't have to sync your content. The software gives you the option of manually moving whatever you wish from your PC to your Zune and vice versa... I am very well pleased even if it is Microsoft. Previous mp3/media players were Creative Zens which are also fine products.

    #6,

My experience is that tech support people are those who cannot do (kind of like teachers). Perhaps you need some enlightenment?

For example, everything I read regarding Windows 7 has been good. But I'm sure you'll have some vague, pointless gripe about it also.

I have a few friends that love the Zune, I went for the iTouch instead as is very popular and is fun to hack Wink

Despite the Zune being a Microsoft product (read: not apple), it performs really well. The Zune trumps the iPod features-wise. It has a bigger screen (obviously) which turns horizontally when watching videos and looking at pictures (and it did this before the iPhone even came out). It has a built in AM/FM radio feature. You can customize the background. Microsoft XNA games are available for the zune. It has a built in clock thanks to a recent firmware update.

I have owned a Zune 30 since a couple months after they launched and I love it. The only thing I wish was different is the inability to use the zune as a portable storage device on a computer. The Zune program is really nice. I even have long time apple fanboy friends who like the Zune program better than iTunes. If you really don't like the Zune program, you can use ZAlternator to allow you to use iTunes, WinAmp, or Windows Media Player to sync your music. Also, to those who think the Zune looks big and bulky, it is virtually the same size of an iPod Classic. It is slightly taller (we're talking fractions of an inch) but it's width and thickness is the same as the iPod.

#6 has obviously never owned/used a Zune, or was biased by a prejudgment of the device.

This seems like a good price. Granted, I am waiting for the Zune HD to be released before I upgrade to a newer Zune. Anyway, just my thoughts on the matter. I always hear people trash the Zune before really even giving it a chance. I got the zune because of the advantages over the iPod (I didn't even mention the wireless syncing/zune-to-zune transfers) and I have never regretted the purchase.
