With the way the retailers were complaining about a horrid Christmas, I would expect to see more great deals in the near future. Either that, or it was all a big ploy to get us to spend more money...

Retail sales were slower in early to mid December because everybody was waiting for deals. Things picked up at the last minute. I work in retail and where I work the best deals were between Dec 10-15 (or round about). We had some of our biggest items at 30% off and then cardholders of company credit cards got an additional 20% off of those prices and their entire purchase. Now people are coming in asking for X, Y and Z because they thought they'd get a deal and everything is gone (we started our Winter sale the 22nd).
