Great player, ugly color though. It looks like the price drops are going to be frequent, as the Zune 2 is being released soon. I'm surprised though, because all the new functions of the Zune 2 (new navigation, software updates, etc) will ALSO be available on the Zune 1st gen with the 2.0 or 2.1 firmare (whichever is next).. for once, the company will do something to benefit older customers... Kudos to MS!

no doubt #1 I know quite a few Zune customers who are smiling right now at the news on the support of the 1st generation player.

I don't know a single Zune customer. And I don't want to...they probably have mental problems.

Absolutely, #3. Lossless support, wireless syncing, DRM FREE marketplace (not like it matters *cough* usenet).

      #4 hangs with the iSheep

#4, That is because you are hanging out with bunch of sheep who hangs with the iSheep (As #5 Said).

If you bought rodeo cowboy and now you feel like a big loser at least don't cry here. You can go to "Fruit Company" store and cry over there.

With trashing Zune you can not make rodeo cowboy better!

      Wink

$140 for a zune is too much. You can buy a refurb for $99 + 5 shipping at woot.

#12, that deal is dead. It was only intended for people that bought the new one on aug 22nd, but the link got out Sad

Name another 30gb media player for the same price new.

I got 2 $99 deals in basic black from Woot last night, not the tobacco stained brown.

#7 & your friends, it's okay to come out of the closet. You don't have to take cover behind something that you bash so hard for! ;-P)

The Woot deal from last week is indeed dead. Must have happened today because I saw it still up last night. I got in on the Woot deal and can't wait to get my Zune. I was also thrilled to here about the firmware update. I'd been waiting a while on an MP3 player because they all disappoint me a bit quite frankly. However the Woot deal was too hard to pass up.

One thing I don't like about the Zune, it is pretty ugly. It's not horrible, but next to an iPod... Of course I didn't get it for looks. Still, considering the look of the Zune, I wish the Woot deal was for the Brown one. It's so "ugly" it looks cool and retro in brown.

BTW, if you want a cool cover for your Zune, I found two. First the leather ones by Vaja are great. You can customize them if you want and they have some cool styles. Still they're pricey (at least for me since I waited for a deal like the Woot deal to get an MP3 player).

The other cool cover/case I found was by a company called Speck. It's a converse sneaker themed cover. Very cool, looks like it gets the job done and it's not too expensive.
