Is this even legit?!
The website is legit, I have ordered from them before twice. They are just pretty much a deal a day site and they make money mostly on the volume they sell.
Woot has been around for years...hard to believe that there is someone on a website looking for deals that has never heard of Woot...
#1 are you kidding? you haven't heard of Woot.com before.
this site is legit. Most of the time, they have good deals.
Amazon had the "white" for $170 with free shipping. If you're paying tax at woot, this may not be that great of a deal
Yes, #1, Woot is legit. I've bought from them MANY times.
In fact, if hypothetically you looked up "one (usually) good deal a day" in the hypothetical book or website called "Finding Online Deals for Dummies" you would immediately find www.woot.com.
I agree with #3 - hard to believe a baconseeker doesn't know of and hasn't heard of Woot before now. Simply amazing.
amazing deal. Thanks, Ben!!!
I'm not a big fan of apple (hence my frequent bias against them), but I will give you my opinion on the Zune, based on the few hours I got to play with it (best friend got one for xmas).
The only flaw I've seen is the software can be buggy, but once you transfer your material, it plays fine.
The screen is bigger than on the ipod, and the built in fm tuner is nice. Battery life isn't bad either.
As for playability, I watched a bunch of tv shows, a movie and the music was great quality as well (encoded at 192kbps).
A linux hack is coming out for it, which will make the wifi even better
Can you transfer any song wirelessly? It would seem like there'd be huge copyright issues with that... Not that I'd have any problem with it!
#8, you can, but with the current software, it has a limit of 3 days or 3 plays.
The linux hack will take care of that timer
If this were a creative Zen widescreen I would jump on it...
The creative zen vision M is a better alternative to iPod IMO. MS is about to release the next generation Zune....we will see many more zune deals in the next few weeks....no rush.
The wireless sharing feature sounds great, but songs transferred by it can only be played up to 3 times.

Amazon's deal is $170 with free shipping, plus you get a carrying case thrown in. It's basically the same deal as Woot, and you're paying $20 for the case. No tax.
What the Hell is Woot? I wouldn't trust my money with a fly-by-night company like this. PASS!
Nice. Better deal than the iPod.
woot is legit. they have a new deal on a random product every day.
#8, WIFI transfer is only between zune players. You can't transfer from Internet, PC, or network drive. It also has the limitation described by #9. Many people feel that this is rather a dumb use of the WIFI's functionality. Check this out:

Heh, still in stock.
i passed on my mom...
I'm the reverse of pwoz (pro-Apple, anti-MS), so I'll be getting an iPod in a few months...interesting to see this iPod killer on a clearance rack ... <EG>
Anyway, mfh wrote this and I thought this was interesting ...
Heh, the Zune has many nice features for the general consumer... outweighed by the bugs (technically features for the RIAA and MPAA)...
The fact that MS bent over and spread its collective cheeks for the RIAA drove the price up and reduced functionality, thus it didn't sell at its original pricing...
Nice feature: wi-fi music sharing... bug, regardless of actual liscensing, shared music self destructs in 3 days or three plays, not to mention that any suckers who had previously bought "Plays for Sure" tracks was buggered if they tried to move them to a Zune... of coursethe Zune ended up on Woot.
At the current price, it is actually tempting, nice relatively large screen, decent sized hard drive, and if i got 2 and gave one as a gift the music sharing, even crippled as it is, could be handy... And i had never bought any "plays for sure" tracks to lose money on
**evil grin** which is where my politics come in... when MS bent over like that, they were effectively spreading the cheeks of anyone dumb enough to buy one as well... and the RIAA aren't the type to have the common courtesy to even give a reach around.
