gpeek, They've sold thousands of brown zunes in the last month. I think Microsoft is really starting to build a base for their Zunes. They've sold tens of thousands of Zune 30's in the last month or two and when I checked on the Zune 80 at Amazon it was out of stock. Fact is the Zune is a great device at this price regardless of color.

#18, they are blowing these out. They're also giving a free firmware upgrade which is great.

I paid $80 on woot for refurbed. Looks and act like new. Plus, with the recent firmware upgrade it acts just like the Zune 2G.

Ditto #22. I love the firmware updgrade too (despite the complaints I read on Woot).

#15 - I hate the ipod scroll wheel. It never scrolls to where I want.

The Buzz Out Loud Podcast peeps said Walmart was going to do a cheap Zune on BF, but I haven't seen any corroborating evidence of it at this point.

Walmart Edit: "On Monday, it revealed some of those (BF) deals. For example, it will offer a Zune 30 gigabyte MP3 video player for $98.87, which it says is about 25 percent off."

That's only useful if it's other colors vs. Brown.

This is new, not the refurbs at Zoon or elsewhere. I'll buy refurbs but at this price, NEW is a deal!

If you're smart you'll buy a cover/case for your Zune and then you won't even see the color of your Zune.

#27, I ordered a Brown Zune (the color I wanted) from Amazon for $90 shipped. It won't ship until December which is actually a good thing because that gives me plenty of time to cancel my order in case there are any good BF deals.

Apple has ignored market forces because they know they've shackled many with their itunes file format.

I have an iPod touch and a Zune. For a media player, I think the Zune is a little bit better, especially for Wondows users. But the touch has wifi and a browser (I'm making this posting on my touch, in fact) so it is much more multi-purpose. For the money, however, the Zune is a FAR better buy.
