The Zune is utter garbage. If you don't want to get an iPod then get a Sandisk.

Why is the Zune garbage? Have you owned one and if so, I'm wondering what you didn't like about it?

yeah, most of the people I know who own a zune love it and I would definitely say it's better than the equivalent sandisk.

I enjoy my zune greatly. I have a 120 with a HDD, but have heard good things about the flash versions.

The older 30gb version Zune is much better. It gets the same firmware updates as the newer models, and you are able to replace the hard drive to upgrade it to a 120gb capacity. You can also replace the internal rechargeable battery to increase battery life substantially.

    maximillian is clueless

I've owned both and both are good but I like my Zune better.

Clip is good if that is all you need. I had one fail but Sandisk quickly sent another to their credit.

I don't think this Zune is overpriced when you consider the quality of the screen and the overall built quality. Video podcasts look great.

i have a sandisk e280 and a 80gb zune - they are both really nice. the ui for the zune is much better than the sandisk, but the sandisk is really nice and you can find them for dirt cheap

I want to upgrade from my Ipod 30gb G5 to a zune. No Itunes, bigger screen without being bigger over all, and FM tuner are pluses for me. Ordered a 16gb Sansa View for a family member for Christmas, we'll see how good that is. Maybe go with that instead of a Zune. Ipod does have more accessories available though.

#11, the Zune has it's own MS application that you need to install in order to transfer songs over to the player. Not sure how bloated this is compared to itunes but the download is something like 300+ meg compared to 80 for itunes. The only product that will allow drag and drop from what I know is the SanDisk

maximillian clearly has never used one of these. I have one of these and love it. I also own an ipod nano and a sandisk player. I like the interface better than both the ipod and sandisk and the zune software is 1000 times better than itunes crap. You can sort of drag and drop with zune software, but not as easy as sandisk. I would, however, skip the 4gb model and go for the 8gb.

Here's my 2-cents on the discussion. I love my Zune 120 (best sound quality I've found yet, even over 30gb). I liked my Zune 30 too, but sold it for the 120s smaller form factor with the squircle and 4 times the hdd size. Better screens now too. I must say, after owning a Sansa e260 (gave it to Mom) and still owning a c250, I wish I could still have a choice to view my files in a folder view on my Zune. I don't mind the Zune software, it's quite good actually, but some of my ID3 tags from music back in the day aren't so great and it's a HUGE hassle to fix them all no matter what program you use to help. Because I keep SO much on my Zune, screwed up ID3 tags make it so disorganized that I find myself resorting to taking the music off completely because I don't want the hassle of fixing it (unless it's a REAL fav). So I mark the Zune off a point for this reason only, everything else about my 120 is <BR>Knock Knock. <BR>Who's there? <BR>Bacon. <BR>Bacon who?<BR>. Surprisingly, movies are even completely doable with the screen size. I still own a Sansa c250 (refurbished, and was perfect) which I put a microSD 8gb in to have 10gb with a tiny little unit for rough activities and work. The point to this is to say that if you want a portable device for more than music files and a fm tuner or a large capacity, then go for a Zune 30/80/120 with the screen size. But if you only care to have a player for music and fm, go for a Sansa series player of some sort. They are easy to use with drag and drop, music quality is pretty good, your folders are set up how you drop them in, and they are dirt cheap. You can get the c250 (refurbished by Sandisk) these days WITH adding an 8gb microSD to total 10gb of storage for $35-$40 shipped if you shop around. FYI - Woot.com has Sansa player of all kinds quite a bit (nearly always refurbished). And no, I don't work for Woot, I'm only their customer and fan. Hope I helped at least one of you <img src="http://bensbargains.net/forum/images/sm... [Truncated]
