They have a lot of gall to call 480x272 "HD", even if they claim it refers to the HD radio, it's blatantly meant to confuse consumers.

I got this after Christmas. It can't do You Tube, the browser sucks, no email, no calculator included, no weather included, no stocks included, no speaker, no maps included, no voice recorder, no notepad included, and it can't delete files directly. I refunded it and got the iPod Touch, which can do all of that out of the box. This does have HD Radio, but I'm really not missing that in the least. I gave the Zune HD a chance, but it truly was a big disappointment. I also normally despise Apple, but they got it right.

It's good alarm clock, or can be used as a night light to read books, pricey but that oled is bright.

#5 who gives a sh!t that it outputs 720p, it's a portable player. If I wanted a device to output to an external screen I'd get something that can deal with 1080p, stoopid.
If you use the Zune as a standalone player and you have 720p video on it, you're draining power processing that data for zilch since you're not even getting NTSC resolution on the lousy screen. And if you're mostly using it tethered, you're an rodeo cowboy. Either case, FAIL.

#4/#12...just shut up, you look like an rodeo cowboy.

It's called HD because it supports HD video, outputs to HD, and has HD radio.

Most other players can't do that so it has a distinction (good luck finding a media player this size and price that does 1080p). Nothing is meant to confuse the consumer, it's honest. There's no reason for a device this size to have an HD screen...you can't tell the difference.

If you don't like it, don't buy it...but don't act like they're lying about its capabilities. And if you're so concerned about battery life...don't feed it HD video files.

      Christ you're stupid.

      Such as?

OLED screen looks magnificent! That's what matters.

LJW, you must be smaller than a dwarf the way you talk! 3.3 display must be huge to your small stature.

Once again, who cares that it can handle 720p videos IF ITS LOUSY DISPLAY IS NOT EVEN GOOD ENOUGH TO DISPLAY FULL DVD RESOLUTION! Man you guys are dumb. If you want to see HD there are players from other makers like Archos with good quality screens. Calling this piece of junk "HD" is as stupid as the people buying it.

      Sigh...wow LJW is a retard.

The player supports outputting to 720p...meaning you can hook it up to a TV, such as at school, a friend's house, in the car, at an event...anywhere there's a display. no one gives a crap about high def on a screen so small that it wouldn't matter.

Even that abortion known as the iPad only manages 480p output despite having a high res display.

Good luck finding an Archos that also fits in your jeans pocket comfortably.

You've missed the point entirely (PORTABILITY!!). Let it go...as evidenced by the other posters you're just making yourself look stupid.
