I'll wait til Christmas to pull the trigger on this. By then MS will be dropping their pants on pricing.

My lexar mp3 player cost $21 ~7 years ago and is still going strong. Why would anyone want to spend $290 on an mp3 player? This one isn't even endorsed by Steve Jobs.

NOT A DEAL. What was a deal, was when you could get 15% and free shipping for it from Dell... Ben completely missed the boat on that one. So excluding tax, it was about $250.

Hey, I think it's a pretty good mp3 player thus far.

This could be the new king on Video mp3 players with its low voltage, very clean OLED screen and other enhancements. Now worth a consideration.
But yes, probably should be slightly cheaper Wink

wouldn't an ipod touch be better, sure maybe it costs another 10-20$, but the web browser and mail programs make it a much more useful device. and it plays back movies just as well, right? not to mention all the games available for it.

Problem with the ipod is that all files have to be put into iTunes which is a pain if you are dealing with 30g+ of content. In comparison with the Zune software you can put 30g of content on it in about 10-15 minutes as oppossed to several hours for the same amount of information using iTunes. The Zune software also does a better job locating and loading the cover art. The down side is tht you cannot create on the go play lists with the Zune like you can with the iPod though and the legacy Zune players are bulkier than the iPods.

i switched my itunes to load songs manually, there is an option, this way you just copy the files you want. my itunes seems to be relatively fast. maybe the zune's software is faster. i haven't used it.
