These do not seem to have the channel encoding feature. You will have many people listening on you when you use them at a tourist spot. And then of course, the range is not realistic.
Buy a set w/the privacy channels. The basic 22 channels are always full..

Please do not forget you have to divide the milage by 2 and then subtract 8 from you answer. Also plan on only getting 50% or less milage from your answer.
