Good price and size for a bluetooth adapter. A great addition to a computer or laptop that doesn't have a built-in bluetooth. I have been tempted to add this onto my desktop so I can use my bluetooth headset while sitting at my desk. Not sure if I trust the website though

#1, because it appears from the feedback that it won't work with cell phones.

These have worked with my MOTOZINE ZN5. It may depend on the phone.

This is a piece of CARP* (notice the spelling).. It was nice that this item is small but it breaks very easily. Bought it from dealexreme and it took weeks to get it shipped because item is being shipped from overseas. Just my 2 cents. Pay a little more for something that will be more durable.

I have the one from Deal Extreme (actually 2 of them). They both work with my Motorola SLVR L7 and Samsung T509 cell phones.

Mine seem well built. I don't know how they would break unless I took a pair of pliers or hammer to them.

If you are using it correctly it should not break. The intended purpose is to plug it into to your computer, not pound it in.

Works fine with cell phones, works under Linux as well. I have several.

Quality is not an issue and they seem to work under linux/xp. (I have not tried with Vista so thats your own fault if it doesnt.)

Don't know much about this particular unit, but I have a very similar one (made by Kensington) and that one works great.

I have the Deal Extreme version, and it is nothing like what is being described here aside from the form factor. The one from Deal Extreme does not have EDR, so max data rate is going to be way slower. Plus, the Deal Extreme ones often have the same MAC address, so you can't connect two of them together.

It's all about the chip used inside.

why get it from deal extreme or here when these can be had on ebay, supposedly with EDR for about 2 bucks a pop, maybe less if you actually want to try and win an auction.

How can you tell if your adapter supports EDR or not?

Got one of these off eBay for the same price. My GPS hardware recognized it, but the software would not. Ended up giving it away.
