I too enjoy a sleek form factor instead of an obtrusively donging protrusion, but what's that got to do with bluetooth?

These small BT adapters still protrude significantly. Some laptop has shallow USB ports (eeePC) and you will see some metal part as well as the plastic protruding. Quite annoying.

Instead of this fascination with dongs Ben, perhaps some focus on the "negative space" that most of your readers are slaves to...

I got this the other day. I'm using it with XP SP3 and it seems to lose connection after about 15minutes and requires you to re-insert your dong. This is V2 but does not support the stereo profile

    I would avoid this one

Bought this very one a month or so back, mainly just to play around with in Vista SP1 and it works fine. Sees my Motorola Q and BT headset with no issues. Messed around with using the Q as a KB/mouse remote control for my laptop. Neat and all, but I don't think I'll ultimately really use the adapter much.

As for it still...protruding out of the port abit. Some of the metal connector showed on mine and just wrapped that bit with a very thin layer of electrical tape to make it look a little more flush. I'll have to try that grinding trick the guy above did if I can borrow a buddy's Dremel. I certainly wouldn't cry much if I broke it.

Just got 2 from ebay for less then $9 shipped for both. Two for the price of this one. This is not that good of a deal.

There is no such thing as vista, or at least should not be.

If you don't have bluetooth in your laptop; save your $8 and wait until you can afford a new laptop. Seriously. That's basically $10 bucks you have towards a new one and if you have good credit you can buy one from Dell's site when Ben puts up a super sale for a little more than that each month.

Not a good deal. Unless you enjoy re-inserting the dong.

I also enjoy pulling out my dong and reinserting it, in fact I often repeat the process as many times as possible.

Ben's description identifies it as vers. 2 The link and packaging both identify it as vers. 0

With bluetooth, is EDR assumed with version 2.0 or do the specs have to specifically mention it?

this works great on my iBook g4. it's too fragile to be ported around as a laptop -- any movement jiggles a chip out of place and I have to reboot -- but with this, I don't have to touch it, at least minimally. Thank you, Bluetooth technology!
