I got the mio c310x about 1 month ago and am very happy with it. It works good and has the Sirf starchip III that only the more expensive units have!
here's a review http://www.gpslodge.com/archives/008669.php
Aslo very hackable.... http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=69673
Here's some good info in the Sirf starchip III
http://www.gpslodge.com/archives/004566.php
The 310x Circuit City is selling comes with the AC adapter. The ones that are currently in production do not come with this, so this deal is great. I believe the AC adapter is $25 as an accessory.
Will CC let you use a Gift Card when ordering online? Thanks
Yes they will.
I got mine for $125 on Black Friday ($150 and Staples honored my $25 off $100 OfficeMax coupon!)
Note that it does NOT include Canada maps, but from the links above you can download it for free. Either delete Guam, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and other unlikely destinations to make room, or add an SD card.
Download the K Female voice, too... Nice.
wasn't there a $40 off $199 coupon?
this has been at frys for $198 for i dont know how long now....
will the $15 off $149 coupon that just came in from black friday rebates work? sweeter deal
My only problem with this mp3 player is that it has TOO many features. It can be difficult to navigate. Other than that I love the thing.
also the map is outdated.. I think it's 2005 edition map.
new version will be out soon.
Got this about 2 weeks ago. Useful GPS and I haven't even hacked it. #10 is correct, it is a bit outdated, but I've only encountered one area that it was incorrect.. the mixing bowl of DC. It put me north on 395 instead of 495 W.

I took the first exit I could, into burp anacostia. I pulled off the highway into the middle of a burp 40 person gang war. Bullets were burp up my car right and left and I got burp shot trying to speed through it. Then I got burp pissed and pulled a U-ee and burp flanked the ni66ers. I ran my car over like 4 ni66ers before they shot out my burp tires. I floored it outta there and ran over like 2 hobos and 4 baby mamas on my way out. The damage to my car was a few thousand and medical bills also a few thousand, but it was well worth it and my finest accomplishmen thus far.

#2. It's also on sale at Frys.com for $198/shipped. I got mine from Frys and it also came with an AC adapter. Looks like they're including it as standard equipment again. No biggie for me since the only time I ever charge it is in the car.
It's based on a WindowsCE 4.2 platform. It's trivial to get into, then you can load TCPMP, etc. to watch videos. This is really a PocketPC of sorts that has an excellent GPS running on it. I removed all the maps except the states I need, which left plenty of room for movies, books, audiobooks, games, references, other apps.
And if you don't like the Mio maps, plenty of other maps work fine. You can also get into the ogg voice files and replace the driving instructions with your voice or that of your spouse/SO.
It's far, far more flexible than Garmin, TomTom, etc. --- at $200 a steal.
Good info #14. How is it as an MP3 player? How big of an SD card will it hold? I basically would like a combo large capacity MP3 player/GPS unit.
I would recomend updating the maps. A friend of mine got this on Black Friday and it has the speed limit on the interstate in Iowa at 65. This was changed to 70 in July 2005. Still a good deal though!
#14 - you said if you don't like the mio maps, you can use other maps... Can you give more info about that? Outdated map and the possiblity of spending another $100 - $150 for updated map are whats keeping me from pulling the trigger.
I read on GPSPassion that: 1) updated maps is targeted for Q1 '07 release and 2) customers will have to pay for map update.
Several people I know have this GPS. One problem they tell me of is that this GPS likes to try to take you through small streets (whichever will be the shortest distance from Point to Point) instead of using the main streets.
#18, tell the people you know to change their settings as to how the GPS creates its routes.
#18, I find that the C310x actually keeps me on the state routes more than non-state routes. And if you turn off highways, it does too many small roads. It's a catch-22.
Otherwise, the unit rocks. It will calculate an entire route across the US in less than half a minute. It's pretty good at avoiding U-turns and figuring out when you are taking a different segment, without recalculating everything (just the part that changes).
