For sure, I'm going to buy a DLP TV.

This is such great modern technology that all my neighbors will be envious. First, I'll have to build an extension to house this big beast. Then I'll start a savings plan to fund the inevitable bulb replacement.

I feel sorry for my neighbors with their LCD TVs, not being able to use them as furniture and losing all that wall space.
Also consider their inconvenience on superbowl day, when they have a house full of rowdy people. I, on the other hand, will only have a few people around because we have to sit directly in front of the screen or it appears to go very dim.

Yes, this may be expensive, obsolete technology, overly bulky and have poor peripheral viewing, but it perfectly suits my requirements.

Thanks for this bargain, I'm in for 4.

My friend has a 56" DLP from Samsung and the picture is great. You can see it very clearly from anywhere in the room. He's had it for about 3 years now and hasn't had to replace the bulb yet.

I understand DLP is the most common technology used in high end commercial theaters. It may not be the most convenient form factor but it sounds like the picture quality is second to none. It's the mirrors Smile

    1) How's clever working out for you? I'm sure that took a while to type, but you only made yourself look stupid. Hit AVForums, these sets are amazing. Yes, that extra 10 inches of depth is horrible, but the last time I watched my TV, I couldn't see the side of it.
    2) Ben doesn't exist anymore. This site was sold for 54 million a while back.

I have one of these, it's 3 years old so it's not 120Hz, but it's a great tv. This is a good price on a nice tv.

As much as people hate DLP technology I like it. My kids was watch the TV in the living room and off to the side in the dinning room. Since my house has a three foot deep TV nook, size is not a problem.

#7 it happens I have the same TV nook in my living room.
I have my 10 years old Mitsu projection 65" Diamond fits right in there happily. Don't ask me how much I paid for the HDTV 10 years ago.... The HD set-top-box was $1000.

I have a 72" A650 Samsung and a 65" 837 Mits and love them both. The DLP picture is phenomenal and the ownership cost is minimal. Compare the power usage of this set to that of a comparable (55"+) plasma over 4-5000 hours and you'll cover the cost of a bulb replacement three-fold. Added, to buy a comparable non-DLP set size-wise you'll spend a ton more. Definitely best bang for the buck. And for those who don't think going from a 55" to a 65" is remarkable..bacon's huge.

"The site quickly developed a loyal following, and Ben's Bargains had revenues of $20,000 per month by 2004.[2] Ben's Bargains was acquired by Internet Brands in 2008, joining other shopping sites that the company owns, such as The Bargainist.[3]"

If the site had reached revenue of say $50,000 per month by 2008 that's $6M per year. At a selling rate of 8/1 ratio which is pretty high, but not uncommon based on growth projections, it could have brought in $48M.
