I went to Ultimate Electronics a couple weeks ago to look at the C9s since they are supposed to be so wonderful. I will just say that I was beyond disappointed and will never even consider purchasing a DLP. Ever.

I've had a Samsung DLP for 5 years, and aside from 2 bulb replacements, haven't ever had a problem with it. It's every bit as bright and detailed as my Sony LCD.

well #2 you most live in a very dark room, and have poor eyes, or your just trying to make your self feel better in justifying your DLP purchase.

Samsung DLPs are amazing TVs. I own a 56" DLP and its the best bang for your buck IMO.
Funny thing is that my friend has a Sony LCD and the Samsung DLP just kills it. Especially for video games...

About $120 online for a name brand (Phillips).
    $70 for a cheapo.

So, after 5 years you have added $240 to the price of DLPs for replacing bulbs (and more to come). And, the viewing angles of DLPs have always been a baconbreaker for me.

No thanks. LCDs are plenty big for most rooms and don't have these drawbacks.

I'm not satisfied with my Samsung DLP. Viewing angle sucks and startup time is slow!

Would trade it for an LED TV, any day.

#2 your DLP is about the same age as the one I recently buried. All 4 boards had blown caps. Known widespread problem. Probably better now but who knows. Sell it while you can... If you must get a DLP get a LED lit one and forget about the bulb. At this size a front projector starts to make more sense unless in a bright room.
