It's junk.
I installed this more than a year ago and haven't had any problems whatsoever. However, if I were to install another, it would be one with a dual lever and not a push button.
#3: What is the difference? (from a practical point of view?)
Necessary because? "If it's brown..."

#4 - the lever would be easier for my son to flush it. The push button takes more force to push in and can be hard to get the smaller flush.
