Devo, rides this
Beside a nice and good quality aluminum frame, the parts used on this bike is not much diffent from those sold at the discount stores like Walmart's.
And at 3.5x the price of a Walmart bike, no thanks!
Yes, this has wheels and gears just like the cheepy wallyworld bike
Defintely a notch above anything you'd get for 1/3rd the price, the $80 Walmart bikes don't even have branded parts, though Walmart's most expensive MTB are roughly the same quality for... wait for it... roughly the same price.
This might make for a cheapskate's XC trainer, more than enough for light trails letalone paved roads, but ultimately not an all-in-one mountain bike you'd want to use where people normally ride $500+ bikes.
I will never buy a bike without first testing in pavement at least. This sound like a nice bike to ride around a few blocks but I agree it expensive compare to the ones a Walmart and you definitely get what you pay for.
the $69 walmart bike is a better deal.
bike snobs, we
Too bad Mongoose's quality has gone to $hit.
