150watts? That's not very much, it could barely handle my laptop.
I've got a 750watt car inverter, and it works great. I've used it when my house power goes out to power appliances(fridge, freezer, sump pump, etc), as well as my desktop computer.
I think it's about time we could use our electric/hybrid cars with a large inverter as a fairly high-powered emergency generation system for the home.
You'll drastically shorten battery life if you use them like that (hybrids don't come with deep-cycle batteries).
