Dell has the Motorola Droid Android Smartphone for $120 with activation of a new Verizon Wireless account. The Droid is Verizon's first Google Android smartphone and looks to be a strong iPhone competitor.

Not a deal at all. Go to Verizon, open a new account and get it for $199 with a $100 rebate, making the whole thing $99!

Sorry. If you open an account in the Verizon store, it's a mail-in rebate. Do it over the phone and get it in two days and they take the $100 off; no mail-in rebate hassles.

I went to the store to check out this phone, Bulky, the screen gets fingerprints on it that are very visible, and it does not have a easy to remember system. You will forget how to do more than you will actually know.

Works for me if you remember it's a smartphone/PDA (size, weight, fingerprints, etc.). Feels solid, lots of features (voice-activated, google maps, quick browser, etc.). Easy to install/run Android apps.

By the way gues, I'm pretty sure it $299 at Verizon. $100 off takes it to $200...that's the best Verizon price, though Wirefly was offering mid-lo $100s. This is the best deal I've seen so far.

#7... nope.. same browser, same android apps, different shell. Waiting for a Wimax-capable phone with SIP and UMA support.

go ahead Hrbud, wait for that phone you want, and when it comes out, you would probably want to wait for the next better phone instead...that's funny!

I have the Droid and it's a damn good phone! The satellite linked GPS alone is enough to get it.

This $150 phone turns into nearly $900 when you take into account the addl. $30+/month you have to pay for a "data plan" during the next 24 months...

Jake I'm sorry but that argument always falls flat on its face. If you don't buy the data plan what's the point of buying a sophisticated phone to begin with? There isn't one. No one buys an iPhone, or a Droid, or a Pre so they can NOT have internet service on their phone.
