#14 - is it AT&T that sucks, or is it the I-Phone causing the dropped calls. I-Phone is known for being a horrid phone.
@21:
I had AT&T previously and had the same problem. That's why I switched over to Verizon in the first place. But the wife got me an iphone as a gift and thus forcing me to switch over to AT&T....
So.... from my previous experiences, I feel strongly that the network is the root of the problem.
#19 is just Luke Wilson in disguise. Don't mind him.....
I've had the Moto Droid for a month now and can't get enough of it. I've been with friends, on many occations, with their iPhones and they were frustrated and annoyed while I was ripping data on my Droid.
And, who says you can't 3G and talk at the same time? I do it all the time. I'll use Google Maps while on a call and researching my next call at the same time. That's a bunch of crap--- This phone does it all and more--- the only down side is the lack of Exchange support and the buy in from my company to let me VPN to their network. But this is my personal phone, so I don't care about this.
The Droid IS the iPhone killer.
At&t has better coverage for socal (in my opinion). the coverage really depends on where you live. I used to have a problem with at&t coverage but now it has the best coverage for my area. It is a tough choice between iphone and android but i would go with iphone because of at&t.
ATT is considering tier pricing. If you're a heavy data user, you'll be paying for that usage soon.
PacoDeth, the iPhone can do multitasking quite easily using Backgrounder, a 3 minute jailbreak and you're good to go. I also use my data while talking to someone all the time, usually to view google maps while talking with friends figuring out where we're going to meet up.
Verizon has an excellent network, but I will never go back to them. The cost, the crippling of phone features, horrible service when I actually needed them for something. The ability to easily switch phones simply by swapping my SIM card is a nice extra too. Where I am in the NYC bacon-lust area I get great 3g service, in fact I stream last.fm or pandora over 3g all day at work.
Price not shown? What is the deal?
I've been a Palm user for years and will be dropping my Verizon Treo for a Droid, Pre Plus, Storm2 or Tour. The Droid is leading in all my head-to-head comparisons. The Pre Plus looks good on paper, but the apps just aren't there for WebOS.
