The "golf edition" is just the regular 16GB MOTOACTV bundled with the wristband. You get the golf software free with the 16GB player, so if you're interested in this product, check the price of the standalone MOTOACTV and the wristband. It may be cheaper to buy them separately.
I always thought MOTOACTV was just more crapware to be frozen or uninstalled.
Definitely not the device to get if you can't stand iTunes. Their computer software is heinous.
