Been a few years since i used ASDL but mine would overheat requiring a power reset every so often. I believe the heat caused a high failure rate with these if i remember correctly.
RUN from this POS. One of the highest failure rates out of any electronics in history. If you're dumb enough to buy one, install a small fan on top.
I have used this before and it does heat up and locks up the modem. HOWEVER, I turned it upside down and it worked better. The vents are on the bottom of this and traps the heat. By turning it over, at least part of the heat can escape.
$9. Pop the case off, leave it off, and epoxy a heatsink on if still needed.
