Minimal effect, acctually it makes thing worse if your cable signal is normal to strong. So if your TV signal and cable modem are working fine then don't bother this booster. If they are not working fine like snowy picture, slow d/l and u/l, your cable provider need to fix the problem from outside assumming that you checked the cables from inside first.

This booster is a good solution for signal degradation caused by splitting a cable TV too many times. For best results, use the booster BEFORE splitting your TV cable. It should be placed as close as possible to the source cable coming into your house. You need an power outlet nearby.

This product should NOT be used for cable Internet. The directions say it IS compatible, but you should bypass your Internet connection.
