I have read some great things about this tablet when it has the stock rom. But one issue for me is the lack of IPS screen. The Samsung, Acer, and ASUS offerings (with the same processing capabilities) in this price range all have competitive screens to the Ipad/Ipad 2 in terms of viewing angle, color saturation, and contrast ratios.
In short: This one has a great user experience, great stock and aftermarket ROMs, all the functionality and customization that Android device can offer. Less that ideal display. I am looking elsewhere....
I got my information from reviews online. If it is in fact an IPS display, the real world display performance still lags behind the competition. ... Just thought I would share with the group.
I was surprised to see 32GB and it's not a refurb. This is the first-gen Xoom, but that's still quite a price drop. I also wonder why it's Honeycomb -- it hasn't gotten Ice Cream Sandwich? Anyway, as you note #1 there are lots of custom ROM options.
