This card sounds like a great card for vdpau. It provides 'C' level acceleration. cheap hdmi solution for linux box including xbmc, boxee, mythtv.
From what I'm reading HDMI audio on these don't get the integrated audio processor like ATI, and still depend on HDA or SPDIF header connection from an audio source. (ie sound card or onboard). So you make a extra connection from your audio output to this card and that gets you HD audio over the HDMI cable? I don't see any connector on these cards that accepts audio in. Somebody know..?

To get the rebate you have to agree to get bombarded with advertising at your email address, so you might want to use a throw away, or forgo the rebate.
#2, there is a 2-pin header on the card listed in this Hot Deal, so it probably has digital audio in (unless that's a fan header). You can see it in the pictures at NewEgg's site.
Has nVidia released their new cards with built-on HDMI audio yet? Is this Geforce 210 their new product?
#4 -- Well yes these are the new ones that are the first offerings Nvidia has which permit support for the HDMI 1.3a standard including uncompressed 7.1 channel audio (HD Blu-ray audio). But how exactly they are accomplishing that exactly is up in the air.
The MSI site said it this way, "Only 1 single HDMI cable is required while streaming audio/video data to flat-panel display devices, such as Plasma/LCD TVs, or projector."
Here driverheaven.net said,
"Another improvement over previous Nvidia products is the ability for this card to pass audio out (7.1 LPCM) over HDMI with the source being transferred over PCIe rather than an internal SPDIF cable."
Then at the conclusion...
"Nvidia also have their HDMI audio solution improved (fixed) which means this solution will be very enticing for the Media PC marketplace. Now it is simply a case of plugging in the card, plugging in the HDMI cable and both audio and video are passed through."

So it sounds like Nvidia has an acceptable work around without having to include an integrated audio processor. That one less component they don't have to spend for, so their working with a solution that provides a better production costs and margins.
be careful with the memory spec: it's actually the datarate which is 800Mbps; the DDR2 memory clock is 400Mhz.
