Seems like a reasonable deal. I ordered one for my htpc because BR video is not always smooth on my Radeon 3200 integrated graphics adapter. I'm hoping this does the trick!
#1, what Operating System and playback software are you using? Have you verified that hardware acceleration is enabled?
#2 Yeah, I've tried lots and lots of options (including hw acceleration). It's Win7 x64 with PowderDVD Ultra 9 (also tried the demo of TotalMedia and had similar results). Things I have read seem to say that is enough for HD playback but some seem to think it's on the lean side. I figure this is worth a try for the money involved.
Thanks for the suggestions!
#3, you are playing the BR content from optical disc and not from the hard drive, correct? At least in WinXP, I don't think that PDVD9 uses hardware acceleration when playing high definition content from the hard drive.
#3 - Like #4 said if you are playing B-R disc (optical) without a problem (which a 3200 is more than capable) you've other issues than your IGP.
While dropping in this card could end up sorting out any hardware/ driver discord it won't change much on software conflicts for HD acceleration.
