I really would like to see more new reviews that pitt this slice of the market together. This MSI should have no problem getting you to 1100Mhz, and at that level running latest Catalyst 13.1 drivers a card like this can hold it own with GTX660Ti that cost $60 more.

This was from the other day and shows a 7870 (and 7850) against an eclectic mix of cards on different tests, but it was with 13.1 drivers (at least the 7870) and it telling but not all that worthwhile. They stack it with "Enthusiast" cards and then settings that are pushing it for a $200 "Mainstream" class cards. Something else they use a GTX660Ti OC, then sometimes show as non-OC, GTX660 is in some tests, but not all. It badly tailored to glean any useful info for cards competing at the 7870 level. Last they're PureOC... but didn't try their hand as to OC that Diamond.

Then instead of giving out some $150 credits on “Free to Play games” for “virtual crap” of what amounts “non-tangible content” for games that aren't aimed for a $230 for the card... This MSI deal has a 3D Mark download along with Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider game coupons.

Casecutter, you won't happen to know if the PowerColor 7870 deal at NCIX US comes with Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider would you? Want to get 7950 for the overclocked speed and better bundled games but it won't fit my Antec Solo case. I think both cards are at the price/performance sweet spot.

    Darn, if there is a 10" 7950 for $270.

This PowerColor AX7870 2GBD5-2DHPP is $189.20 -AR$30 w/FS and I'm seeing it incudes "Never Settle Bundle" Free Bioshock Infinite & Tomb Raider. That card is 9.5"

If that still too long the Diamond from that review above is 8.5". It's $220 -AR$20 w/FS and the bundle. It's a little pricey, but if size matters it great. OC that and it would smack those 9.5”reference GTX660. I thought the cooler appeared to be still fairly stout, while in an even more diminutive package.

Found this review (in Italian) but it uses a reference spec PNY GTX660 even though it's an XLR8. From what gather they have some start-forward mostly new gaming titles and these feel about what I expect. The best part it's from Dec 18,2012, and they ran both 12.11 Beta and I'd suppose what's perhaps 18 It has a bunch of card in the mix, but the way the via back and forth feels about what I consider to be how they struggle.

While this XbitLabs round-up shows the effect of OC'd factory GTX660 cards at different clocks, actually it's not providing much and against the Sapphire 7870 OC (1050Mhz) they include. The data table on the bottom of page 9 would seem if you averaged all the GTX660 final averages and compare to the 7870 they are about 10% behind overall.

Thanks Casecutter. The Antec Solo/P150 case can accept card up to 10" so the PowerColor 7870 would fit. It is also great that it comes with the game boundle. I wish ATI starts making their card smaller like Nvidia. No reason to push 11~12" when a bit height would make everything fit. Thanks again.
