Some of the reviews mention 10 minute boot times... it's keeping me from pulling the trigger on this one, but I want/need a low profile htpc card w/hdmi, standard is lookin' phugly. Any advice? I use linux, if that matters.

Nevermind, I was confused. Totally spaced this is an ATI card anyhow. It was the nVidia MSI cards that had the 10 minute boot times.

I like Ben's math lately, they need to find someone who is not retarded.

In this case, Ben's math is correct. It's actually a $15 rebate. This is a typo but he does have his share of mind bogging calculations. Wink

The last ATI fanless card I got for HTPC (MSI 4350) had major HDMI handshake problems, nothing fixed it, not driver updates, rollbacks, registry hacks, 3rd party applets, nothing. I had to replace it with a Nvidia card to fix the problem. I'm staying away from ATI cards for HTPC builds now.

The card would not fit in my HTPC. Make sure you have enough room for the giant heatsink.

I'm a total noob with this stuff. What is needed to play video with this? Does it have it's own software or is a media player needed?

My GeForce 7600 GT went bad. Is this a good replacement?
