Wow, what math skillz. I'm twitterpated.
Great card for HTPC. I have one of these. HDMI audio and everything.
I put one in my server, it does great! Got my rebate in about 2 months.
Good price for this kind of card.
Some of the reviews mention 10 minute boot times... it's keeping me from pulling the trigger on this one, but I want/need a low profile htpc card w/hdmi, standard is lookin' phugly. Any advice? I use linux, if that matters.
meant standard vga out looks phugly. Anyhow. This price is decent even with the MathFAIL. Just wondernig about that 10 minute boottime business!
Nevermind, I was confused. Totally spaced this is an ATI card anyhow. It was the nVidia MSI cards that had the 10 minute boot times.
I like Ben's math lately, they need to find someone who is not retarded.
In this case, Ben's math is correct. It's actually a $15 rebate. This is a typo but he does have his share of mind bogging calculations.
Thank you for the update! -_-
The last ATI fanless card I got for HTPC (MSI 4350) had major HDMI handshake problems, nothing fixed it, not driver updates, rollbacks, registry hacks, 3rd party applets, nothing. I had to replace it with a Nvidia card to fix the problem. I'm staying away from ATI cards for HTPC builds now.
It's amazing when i see prices like this. I am getting old!!!
The card would not fit in my HTPC. Make sure you have enough room for the giant heatsink.
I'm a total noob with this stuff. What is needed to play video with this? Does it have it's own software or is a media player needed?
My GeForce 7600 GT went bad. Is this a good replacement?
