Sent 2 of these back to Buy.com for the same problem - it stops accepting a charge from the AC adapter. Both times within a few days of recieving it! Nice netbook if they worked.
In their defense, BUY.COM took them both back.

I'm typing this on an ASUS 1000HE...

The Asus 1000HE is a better by for $40 more at ZZF: 6 cell battery, "n" wifi, better processor. I find the keyboard quite usable. Anything smaller is not productive.

What's the purpose of these? Wouldn't a regular laptop be better?

I have a 1000HE in ADDITION to my laptop. The laptop stays docked and comes out if I gotta do some heavy demos. Otherwise I travel with the netbook.

My Dell laptop weighs a ton, but it's good for using at home, on the counter or whatever.

I use Window's Remote Desktop Connection to remote into my

      Bacon who?
desktop PC from my netbook when I'm home - get the power and connection speed of that PC, hard-wired to the cable, and I just send screens back and forth to my ASUS via my Netgear 'N' router. FAST!

I take the netbook on the road with it's standard 9.5 hr battery.
