i looked around at the description of this on different sites. it doesnt list compatibility with the motorola V3, V330, or V360. it looks like it just has a usb plug for output. I think this means it will have problems charging certain motorola phones. anybody know?

I have not used this device specifically, but having used moto phones I know that they are picky when it comes to chargers. I can plug my blackberry into just about any usb charger and it charges fine, whereas my moto phones would always give some sort of "unauthorized" charger error. it could also have something to do with the charger, but thats just my experience.

I've had two different non-USB Motorola chargers with the same exact connector where one worked on my V300 and the other did not. The ONLY difference between the chargers was that one cable was thicker than the other. Same model otherwise, same input and output power rating, etc. Motorola's non-standard chargers (even USB as #1 and #2 have stated) is one of the reasons I choose to not have a Motorola phone. Kudos to Blackberry for building a phone that just sucks up the available juice as long as the right cable is plugged in... (YMMV, I'm not suggesting overloading it!)

i think i read somewhere that motorola chargers have a resistor between one of the data pins and ground. So a usb cable with just power applied to it wont work. A usb cable plugged into a computer will work. And a motorola brand charger has the resistor and will work.

I have a tmobile wing (htc) with some goofy modified usb looking connector that accepts usb and charges off anything. the wife has a razr.

This thing is great. I save a lot of money on electricity. It's a little inconvenient though I have to climb to the roof when I neeed to charge my cell phone.

Ironbadge, I do the same thing. To multiplex, I also hook this unit up to my saute pan, and bring two eggs and a couple strips of bacon.
