This looks pretty cool especially with the large 4.3 inch screen.

Do a search and read the comments of other posts. Reviews are mixed, but generally poor, at least on this forum.

Personally prefer Garmin devices, but my parents have this system and it works well for them. Screen is bright enough even when it is very sunny outside, and the traffic info is a nice touch. It's probably covered by Costco's return policy so you'll get at least 90 days to try it out.

I happened to order this exact unit from costco last week. It just arrived today, and i took a test drive with this unit.
In summary, it was a BIG disappointment.
First of all, the buttons are so small that they provide you a stylus with this unit. Practically you don't have the luxury to pull out the stylus and press those tiny buttons if you are on the street.
Secondly, the operation of this unit is not intuitive at all. It has so many extra steps to accomplish a simple task like finding a POI.
Last but not least, this unit routes really weird. It prompted me with very weird path while there is a dead straight path. I tried to tweak if there is any setting that's causing this symptom, but trust me, it doesn't have that much routing option settings either. I never had that kind of routing with my Garmin Nuvi.

Tonight, I very much realized how Nuvi is superior to Navigon.
I am going to give it one more try on my commute to work tomorrow. If it fails again, i am going to go get a refund.

I have the 5100 also, and thinking of getting this for the bigger screen.
This is great for beginning GPS users who don't require the big name brand bells and whistles and have more patience than most. The device is simple to use, text to speech funcion, large screen, free lifetime traffic, very useful 3D view, and only at $250.
Garmin or Tomtom of the same features cost $100 more and also have their own issues.

I purchased the 7100 after extensive research and comparison to the other GPS units in this category. You can't get a better GPS for this price point and that was before another $50 rebate. Zagat POI data base, Bluetooth, live traffic for fee (clear channel), reality view, etc. The buttons are small but check out this review. Navigon will address this issue with a free upgrade later this month. http://www.gpsreview.net/navigon-7100/

seems like a really good idea, at least for the traffic info, don't think you can get a better deal with unlimited traffic on it.

Hi #11. You said you did an extensive research on this GPS. You also said that you like the Zagat list on Navigon7100. Ok, fine with me. Then, now do a little more research. Try locating Costco, Target, Bestbuy, Ross, or Home Depot. You will find NONE of these POIs on your GPS. I mean NONE... NADA...You think they'll add these POIs on their upgrade? I don't think so. I actually returned this piece of crap yesterday and ordered the NUVI660 on Amazon for even cheaper price.

Now, some of you are going to say you get lifetime free traffic report on this unit. Well, I was actually very interested in getting the traffic signal on my GPS. Let me pinpoint that it's not as good as you may think for the following reasons:
      1. It is very hard to read the traffic report on the map. It highlights the congested area with yellow border line. However, they also mark streets with exactly same color. It is really confusing.
      2. I never have had an occasion where it recalculates the route due to traffic jam. I set it so that it automatically recalculates the route, but it never happened even when I was in a dead stop traffic jam on I-105. It makes wonder what algorithm it uses to recalculates the route. If this feature is not working well, what is the whole point of receiving the traffic report???
      3. The report is often not accurate at all.
      4. This GPS fails to represent the road condition of the traffic properly. If you are in the 3-D mode, it is absoulutely impossible to figure out where the traffic incident is. So you have to change it to 2-D mode. Then, your map is zoomed in max. So you have to press the rightmost tool bar to bring up menu where it has '+' and '-'. Then, you have to press '-' several times to bring up an appropriate map that shows the traffic conditions. In other words, it involves TOO MANY steps to see the map with traffic condition. You will agree what I mean if you actually try this unit out yourself.
      5. The text on this GPS is way too small and buttons are really tiny "AND" hard to press. I find myself trying to press a button at least 2 to 3 times to get a response. Get ready to be frustrated unless it becomes your habit to press and press and press until it finally does something for you.

I can write good things about this unit too such as the external design and the suction cup holder. They are top of line quality. However, the main functionality of GPS is not to show off people but to guide you from point A to B in most efficient way. If you agree with that, do yourself a favor and think again. You will end up in merchandise return line at costco.
