i think it's still too much for this unit. and it has not really been optimized for the US, so it's not Superbly Accurate

Description is (also) for the Navigon 5100. The major difference you get for the extra $150 with the 7100 is Bluetooth. That, and approx. 1/3 less expected battery life.

Navigon runs a close second to Garmin as far as features, usability, and performance. Even with a shorter battery life, it's still worth consideration.

Not true #4. The 5100 has a smaller screen.

I believe Navigon will become a brand name if it isn't already considered one. The main reason for the price is the reality view, which I think is a very neat and innovative feature. Can someone find another brand with this feature? It would be useful for comparison. If not, I think you can see why the price might be so high. I'd definitely consider this when it drops to 300.

It is not superbly accurate at all. Otherwise it s great. Navigon should be coming out with an update any day now. Need more info? www.gpspassion.com . I do not work for them - just like the forums.

I bought the 7100 a month ago and had to return it due to its lack of user friendliness. The screen does not respond well to inputs with your finger (low sensitivity). It's a little better when using the provided stylus but it's a pain. The letters for address input are small and only take up half the screen. In comparison, Garmin fills the whole screen with the "keyboard" for easier input.

On another note, the GPS is rather slow. Needs a processor upgrade. Turning off animations help a little, but still slow.

As for the name Navigon, it's a name brand in Europe. Navigon is a German company.
