Scanners only make sense when you need quality, like when scanning photos or docs that require a professional look. For receipts, a phone cam is fine and a lot more useful. I use an android app called camscanner that does a great job and even creates PDF from scanned pics. There are probably a dozen similar apps that are all $5 or less.
phone cam way too fiddly. Slap paper down on scanner bed, press button = PDF or JPG
use the right tool for the job
But for one fitty I'd use the android app for the 10 times a month I have to scan in a receipt.
I agree with #1 and #2. However if you look carefully the category for this item is

It is categorized as "software" not H/W scanner- so I guess key is they are selling the "NeatWorks Software" and scanner as support H/W. Not really sell scanner as their main target. Most likely they try to sell to people with a lot of receipts to file. ( most likely for business use - not for home)
Just my 2 cents...
The nice thing is the software which does a decent job of organizing what you have scanned in. If you are clueless at organizing this is a decent product, if you do know how to organize files into folders then this is a waste of money.
