PCMicroStore has the Nero 9.4.17/26 Suite 2 Burn no playback (OEM) for $5.99 - $2.50 off with coupon code NERO = $3.49 with free shipping. Create, rip, copy, burn, and edit music, video, photo and data, with autobackup and data-protection features.
It doesn't do what the description of the product said. Everytime you tried to use its feature, it'll pop up a window suggesting you to buy the full version. What the h**l? At least don't put those feature there or don't describe what it can't do. Waste of money. won't want to pay a penny for it.
* No Refund or Warranty * Must be purchased or bundled with DVDRW. * Serial Number is on CD sleeve - DO NOT throw away sleeve
Buy the Nero version which has at least the features you need, then do one of these:
1) Delete shortcuts to things you don't want to use or didn't pay for, and disable unnecessary things running at boot time including services. HijackThis is a quick way to find most if not all of the latter group.
2) Get a modded lite version of the same version number off some filesharing site and use your legit installation key.
FWIW, I never fool with discs besides the following. Rip it to ISO and put it in an archive file with the serial number on a fileserver, or leave the ISO out of archive if you want to network share it with Daemon Tools or other optical drive emulation software, for example if some software title insists you have the disc in your drive when you run it (or you could look for a no-**-cr**k for it). Slam the disc into a CD tower where you'll probably never need it again.

I've used Nero 6 for years. Recently installed Nero 10. What a bloated piece of crap. Uninstalled and now I'm trying Roxio.
I used Nero up till 6 and it was great, then then upgraded and was amazed how bad the product had gotten, you are not kidding about the bloat.
Every feature/codec is another serial number and purchase, it even has it's own serial number manager.
I need something like Nero 6 for windows 7.
Hey #2
Try Free CDBurnerXP for Windows 7. It is MUCH better than new Nero's. Very simple and efficient.

7 was the last decent version.
