$200 for a thermostat? You either have too much money or you need to schedule an appointment with your doctor.

The cost might make sense if you leave the house often and can benefit from lowering temperature often while out.

No matter how many ways you try to justify a 200 dollar thermostat... It still requires you to have 200 dollars to spend + tax for most of us too! Oh well, wait for the talking and learning thermostat.

I can understand the cost seeing that an Apple engineer was involved but one from Google? I guess he must be a follower when the Apple engineer said hey lets set a high price for it and people will think it must be good. Wonder where he learned that idea?

As for me, someone is almost always home and the temperature is set and never changes. Going up and down in temps to me seems like it wouldn't be very efficient. I'll keep my dumb and cheap thermostat.

Buy a regular electronic thermostat for $50 from HD or Lowes. You can program it for when you want it to work instead of trusting a Google and Apple engineer. If iTunes is any indication of "think different", I would rather do the thinking. TYVM.

I'd say it is worth $100 max. A good thermostat (which this is supposed to be besides the learning stuff) run about $60 - $100.

Would be handy for a cabin or 2nd home to know what the temp is and to change it before you arrive. Overkill for your average Joe..
