Netgear WNDR3700 802.11n Wireless Gigabit Router $55 at Daily Steals

Read their forums, VERY negative reviews. Mostly due to firmware, but a high % of hardware failure too. Hence the refurbs you see from Netgear all the time.

Got one of these from DailySteals last time and it was 3 weeks before I actually received it and they kept changing their story about why it was delayed.

Then when it arrived it was physically damaged and the firmware was obviously corrupted, confirmed with netgear due to the blinking lights.

Also their is no actual Netgear warranty only 30 days of web support and it begins at the date of purchase so by the time I received my router I only had 10 days left.

Dailysteals gave me the run around I am stuck with a bum router I contacted them multiple times and they kept replying with scripted replies and finally when I got an actual person they made no sense whatsoever.

I ordered this from dailysteals last time as well. It took about 4 weeks to arrive. I sent emails three times and received replies blaming "the supplier". Not a good reply when the website states that they will ship within a week.

Mine is actually working fine. I did try a few different firmware versions before sticking with 014.98. This version works with both frequencies as well as an attached drive. I have only streamed video from the attached USB drive once and did not have a problem.

I've never ordered from Dailysteals, but I already have one of these routers that I paid $130 for from Newegg, and its awesome. I'm not sure why all the negative reviews, but the one I got worked perfect right out of the box. I just ordered another to try out DD-RT.

Thanks for the tip on the 014.98 firmware was having some drops with newest version. Might go with dd-wrt anyway.
