TigerDirect.com has the refurbished Netgear WNR834B RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router with draft 802.11n support for $30 - $10 rebate [Exp 12/31] + $9 shipping = $29 shipped. A good price for a refurb, considering these sell new for $70 or more. [BizRate]

  • Complies with draft 802.11n, backwards compatible with 11b/g WiFi
  • Provides speeds up to 270Mbps [requires corresponding RangeMax Next adapter]
  • Ensures maximum performance and coverage with preset internal antennas

The name in itself shows you how sketchy this can be. RangeMax Next Plus will probably be the successor.

I don't even think draftn is done. And netgear has fallen off the radar as a great hardware producer

dd-wrt compatible. I got v2 refurb from frys. It's great, have had no issues for two months.

I have this router. I upgraded from a Linksys WRT54G. Fry's normally sells these for $25 every now and then. The automatic setup works quickly. The interface isn't that confusing, but there are a lot of options. The range is especially good. I can be two floors up and get a "fair" signal.

Recommend Netgear - Set one up for a client. Then bought one for my home office. Great range, even out to the garage for the media port.

This router routes fairly well. I recommend the third-party firmware for the most benefit.
