    How is the range on this thing? Anyone have experience with it?

    the range is pretty good, It comes with a 6ft usb extension so you can move it around a little. I got a little better reception once i cracked off the plastic case.

    Range is pretty good. This is a good deal for a basic system. I have 2 computers with these and they are both upstairs from the router. One is at a walking distance of about 100 feet. Mine only works with wep encryption, however.

    ...or you could just use the integrated wireless card found in most laptops since six or so years ago.

    this is great, I use it for my desktop. I had this for about a year now. bought from buy.com about an year ago for $5.

    I got one of these from woot for $8 + shipping a while back. Works pretty well, except it has issues with some PC's. If the PC doesn't reset the USB ports on reboot, it sometimes locks up and wont connect until you unplug and replug. That's pretty much how all these USB Wireless devices work though.

    $15 seems a little high. I run into these all the time in the sub $10 price range.

    Like bacon says, woot has it for $8.
