Amazon with OWC has the NewerTech Power2U AC USB Port Wall Outlet (NWTPWR2USB) for $15 with free shipping on $25+. Features smart power charger, auto-shut off when not in use, and safety shutters. Installs on 15-amp circuit.
The reviews are probably due to rodeo cowboy that have never replaced an outlet. I do not see how it is possible to be less than acceptable. I have 3 of them. If you don't know how to wire sh it up, then get someone at $75 an hour to do it. Or f uck off and use a power converter. Only downside, the AC/DC Converter runs all the time, without a on/off, so even if nothing is plugged in, it will draw power.
RagMaN is correct: the AC->DC converter will be running all the time, although it probably consumes little power when there's nothing plugged into a USB socket. Maybe a couple of watts.
bryjohns: A *closed* circuit is one that has current flowing and therefore consumes power. An *open* circuit is one that has no current flow, and thus no power consumption.
The little door over the USB slot acts as an on/off switch, so when nothing's plugged in, it's not drawing power. That's why I went for one of these over the knockoffs you can get in Walmart.
reviews of this item on Amazon are pretty bad. even $15 each may be too much ...
I have one and like it. It can be fiddly to install, but once it's in, it's great. It's nice to not have USB chargers lying around, just cables.

@RagMaN
I don't see how the converter would run if there was nothing plugged into it. It would be a closed circuit.
