I'd be worried about this starting a fire. Is it UL certified?
I would imagine since it says "UL listed and approved" in the description. Why is it any more dangerous than having the transformer on the outside?
lol, there's supposed to be a how to video showing it installed in as little as 20 minutes. Guess they must be counting the time it takes to unpack it, recycle the box, and have a beer too.
Whether it's more or less of a fire hazard has more to do with the particular design than whether it's in the wall or in a wall wart brick, though generally speaking either way it is more likely a failure would just cause the plastic to melt and the circuit to fail to an open state.
I think Ben's hotness meter is broken. This item has been "on-sale" weekly for at least a month at this very same price.
