Good one, #1 is a master of comedy!

My girlfriend has one of these... you don't have to use the Nike running shoes to use these. I put some adhesive velcro on the dongle and then stitched the matching velcro onto the tongue of the shoe.

    (tutorial here: http://podophile.com/2006/07/14/shoe-hacker-nikeipod-sport-kit-shoe-mod/)

Works like a charm and a good product, imo. (also, when you reach a running milestone, a pro athlete like Tiger Woods or Lance Armstrong will congratulate you via the iPod headphones)

This is not a bad system if you want to get a general idea of your pace, but accuracy will vary. It's best if you run a very steady pace. Of course, it's almost a no-brainer if you have a nano. But otherwise the Garmin 305, now on sale for about $160 is a great choice for tracking your runs. Yeah, I know it's a bit more than this.

Please note - This package includes only the Nike + iPod wireless sensor. If you also need the wireless receiver for iPod nano, purchase the complete Nike + iPod Sport Kit.

Yeah, not a deal IMO. I bought the complete kit for this price a year ago.
