Electronics Expo has the new Nikon D5100 16.2MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens for $899 - $29 off with coupon code LSDA0426 + $10 shipping = $880 shipped.
16.2MP DX-format CMOS, swivel 3" 921K LCD, 100-6400 ISO range
1920x1080 HD video recording, High Dynamic Range mode, 11-point AF
I just bought this on Friday at Bestbuy. I sent a text with SILVER to 332211 and got a 12% off coupon. This is for silver premier members, for non silver premier, send SAVE to 332211 and get a 10%. Using the 12% coupon, I got this camera for $792. So far, I think the camera is very good. Much better than the point and shoot I bought last year. The only thing to remember about these HD SLRs is that you need a fast SD card, especially if you want to record 1080p video.
Do you really want to use a DSLR as your video camera? How much more are the d3100 and d5100 now that they have HD video? Give me d50 anytime. Seriously. I'm looking to buy a used one.
Personally I would not get the kit. the D5100 body only + the new 50mm 1.8g would be a killer combination.
They shipped my camera after 2 weeks...
#1, quit joking around...
