when you move into the dslr cameras, even the entry level ones give you a lot better pictures than a point and shoot.
the d60 is only a slight upgrade from the d40x from nikon. the d60 is just a model refresher for the d40x. it has good color renditions and functions. but personally i would prefer the XSi to the D60.
the xsi has a 3.0" screen along with LiveView (you can use the LCD as a viewfinder, like that of a P&S). the d60 only has a 2.5" and no liveview. there are quite a lot more advantages to the XSI compared to the D60, but in any case, if you purchase between the two model, you will still get a great entry level DSLR.
How does this one compare with Canon XTi or even XSi? I was debating, and this price is really tempting me now.
isn't the D90 rumored to come out soon, one should buy this and flip the D60 over into a D90... realistically speaking, you might end up with a 06D
