Mmm... High-def video with shallow depth of field...

The Quantaray lens sucks monkey nuts. Ditch it and get the Nikkor 55-200 if you want something budget friendly but better.

You can get a d90 body for $839 from pricegrabber. That lens is worth $1. Need I say more about that lens? So it's not really a great deal if you ask me.

Some advice that I heard years ago about cameras was that you buy for the optics. If you can't afford a Nikon lens, postpone the purchase until you can buy both the camera and the lens.

Hah! Ran into the store last night and switched my D80 that I got 2 weeks ago for the D90. I agree on the lens. It does suck so what I did is bought a regular NIKON lens for $100 and I'll be selling the cheap one it comes with for as much as I could.

      GREAT CAMERA!!! BTW.

I have the D90, bought it to replace my D70. The camera is great. I have no idea how good this lens is but I would guess that it's crap. Besides, 55mm is not wide enough to use for most purposes, and 200mm with worthless without VR or a tripod. I really do like the 18-105VR kit lens for the D90, VERY good lens for the money. I also have the 55-200mm VR from my D70 but since the 105 gives pretty good reach I would rather have the 70-300mm VR.

For the $$ uplift the D90 offers quite a few things over the D80 (higher rez, better low light performance, HD video, more focus points and better metering).

Okay. So consensus is that the "free" lens with this deal sucks. Therefore, this is not really a deal. You can do better to get the D90 with the Nikon kit lens at Amazon.
