Hope they have bigger size and with blood groove build in. I used to see people have the similar shape of knife as weapon. They don't use it as Throwing Knives but put your thumb into the hole( So it won't go loose easily) and hold it in your fist ( of course it need longer handle). With the blood groove- you can easily pull it out ( Not like Bayonet training tell you to stab- turn and pull out). And because it is flat- you can easily hide it w/o been noticed.
I hide these throwing knives when my gf is mad at me. Also my cast iron skillets.

What I mentioned is call "Kunai" - s amall weapon for Ninja. The Smallest version of it then become Throwing Knives . These are very effective in close range battle. And since your thumb lock in the top ring- it won't drop like knives when your hand got hit/punched. Or you have to do like in the movie: You have to wrap the knives in your hand before battle.
